Life Written in my Flute
This short film is about the life of musician Jatinder Parkash. Throughout his career, he has played the flute for films such as “Cooking with Stella” and “Life of Pi” and this short documentary catalogs the ups and downs of his life, his relationships with family and friends and his career as a musician.
When someone like Jeetu plays the flute, his mind, heart and soul are all immersed with his instrument. His flute is not only only an instrument for him but his whole life is written in it.
Director: Bindu Shah
Bindu completed her MFA in Documentary Media in 2014 where she produced, shot, directed and edited her short documentary Every Story Has a Twist, which has screened at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema, Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound and the Collective Space in Toronto. Her passion lies in telling real stories about real people, especially lesser-known ethnographic groups. Life Written in My Flute, is her first film to be screened outside of her MFA. At the present, she is also working on her first feature documentary called Threads That Tie Us which is set to release in summer of 2020.
